Born on April 14th, 2158 on the colony world Sirona in the 61 Ursae Majoris system, Ashley Madeline Williams comes from a large family that includes a long line of Alliance soldiers.

Following her family’s tradition, Ashley enlisted in the Alliance Navy as a marine after high school and was assigned to the Recruit Training Depot in Macapá, Brazil. During training, Chief Williams was certified proficient with the standard-issue M7 Lancer assault rifle and light to standard-weight combat hardsuits. She also completed certification in zero-gravity combat aboard the Rakesh Sharma Orbital Platform in Earth geosynchronous orbit. For Hostile Environment Assault Training, she was assigned to Fort Charles Upham on Titan, one of Saturn’s moons, where she was awarded a commendation for her bold assault technique in a field exercise simulating an attack on turian point defense emplacements.

Ashley Williams goes with Shepard on the mission to defeat Saran and the Geth.

She was offered and accepted the position of Spectre and became the second human Spectre during the Reaper war, and soon after rejoined Shepard and the crew of the Normandy.

After the war, she has spent most of her time doing the work of the Council putting out brush fires that no one else was able to deal with. Until COMM Specialist Tranor contacted her.

After Ashley was contacted by Tranor she contacted Hackett and was able to secure the use of the Normandy and a hand picked crew, along with a bunch of non Alliance specialists for this specific mission. she is currently the official captain of the Normandy SR-2. The mission itself has been deemed classified.

Specialist Samantha Traynor

ME3_Samantha_Traynor_Character_Shot.png

She is the primary COMM Specialist aboard the SSV Normandy

Her parents were originally from London, but they preferred the freedom of colony life. Samantha spent some time in England when she attended Oxford University. Her parents didn’t have money for sending her to a university, but she was able to pursue her studies as the Alliance offered her full scholarship after seeing her aptitude scores. She has a strong British RP (Received Pronunciation) accent.

Traynor was the primary COMM specialist aboard the Normandy 2 after the attack on Earth, all of the Normandys communications where routed through her terminal including all of Shepards personal communications.

During the Reaper war both Shepard and Traynor started a personal relationship, one that Traynor still holds deep in her heart even now.

After the war ended Traynor was reassigned to Admiral Hackkets personal staff. She was their until she got the information about Shepard being alive and got reassigned back to the Normandy for that specific mission.

Flight Captain Jeff “Joker” Moreau

Joker_Character_Box.png

is the primary pilot of the SSV Normandy

Born in 2155, Joker’s upbringing and career have been colored by his health. Joker has a moderate to severe case of Vrolik syndrome, which causes extreme brittleness in the bones; he was born with severe fractures to his legs and even with modern medicine he finds walking nearly impossible, relying on crutches and leg braces.

Joker spent his early life on Arcturus Station because of his mother’s job there as a civilian contractor, and grew up around ships. When he was old enough to enlist, he joined the Alliance Navy. He got his nickname from his flight school instructor, due to the fact that he rarely smiled — he was working too hard. By the end of his training, however, Joker surpassed the other students and even his instructors. “They all got their asses kicked by the sickly kid with the creaky little legs. One guess who was smiling at graduation.”

Joker as most people call him, was the primary pilot of the original Normandy up to its destruction, in the end saved by Shepard just before her death. Joker feels a bit of ineptness to her so after the destruction of the first Normandy he accepted the contract by Cerberus to pilot the Normandy 2, not because he believed in their cause but because he believed in Shepard and what she herself instilled in him. After the collectors where defeated and Shepard and the crew of the Normandy 2 left Cerberus, and the Normandy was given back to the Alliance and Shepard herself was arrested, his working with Cerberus was swept under the rug and he was yet again assigned back to the Normandy 2 as her primary pilot originally under the command of Admiral Anderson. But ended up being back under Shepards command for the duration of the Reaper war.

Since the war was over, Joker has shifted from posting to posting never finding a post he liked and never wanting to be that far away for when he hoped the Normandy would fly again, When he was contacted by Admiral Hackett letting him know he was again reassigned back to the Normandy as her primary pilot along with a promotion that Joker never asked for or wanted as Flight Captain.

Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Karin Chakwas

Chakwas_ME_charbox.png

Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Karin Chakwas is the human doctor of the SSV Normandy. She enlisted in the Alliance soon after she graduated from medical school, seeking “exotic adventure”, though she quickly realized that military life was not as romantic as she had imagined it to be. However, she stayed with the Alliance in order to do her duty and serve humanity. Though she sometimes considers starting her own private practice, or going to work at a medical center on one of the colonies, she feels that “there is something special about working on soldiers”, and believes she would be abandoning them if she did not stay. Like most Alliance doctors, she has taken courses in alien biology, enabling her to treat the non-human crew members.

Doctor Chakwas has been the chief medical offer of the Normandy since its initial shakedown cruise up until its destruction and death of Shepard, when she was posted at the Mars Naval Medical Center. Missing the excitement of Missing the excitement of a starship, Chakwas joins Cerberus, getting a position on the Normandy SR-2 as the ship’s Chief Medical Officer. Which she did until Shepard turned herself and and the Normandy SR-2 over to the Alliance, the Alliance had no idea what to do with Doctor Chakwas due to the fact that at no point did she commit any crimes and had an official leave of absence when she did as such.

in 2186 she has been working at an Alliance R&D lab at Shalta Wards, closely coordinating with Admiral Hackett, when she learned of Ashleys injuries she went right to the Citadels Huerta Memorial Hospital where Shepard asked her to rejoin the Normandy as her Chief Medical officer something she gladly accepts.

After the Reaper war, Chakwas get a promotion to Lieutenant Colonel and can request any posting she so desires. She takes command of the Medical Frigate Marie Curie, she enjoys her job but after a year and a half in the post she starts to get tired of the red tape that commanding a ship and she contemplates retirement and finally opening her practice when she gets contacted by Ashley to hopefully take up her position as Chief Medical Officer of the Normandy something she readily accepts as it gets her back on the Normandy and back to helping Joker.

Yeoman Doctor Kelly Chambers

Kelly_ME2_boxshot.png

She is the captains Yeoman In addition to her duties as yeoman, she is also the ships psychologist.

Kelly Chambers was recruited by Cerberus specifically for Shepards missions against the collectors, after the defeat of the collectors, she and the rest of the crew of the Normandy SR-2 defected from the Collectors and where being hunted by said organization. She disappeared and changed her name for a time and once the war was over and the Cerberus organization had been all but destroyed Kelly resurfaced and joined the Alliance her past brushed under the rug due to her history with Shepard.

Over the past two years or so, she spent training in the Alliance ways and learning everything about the Alliance she can, before she got contacted by Admiral Hackett to join the Normandy SR-2 again, in the same post she had during her time with Cerberus. She gladly accepted the position.

Lt Commander Greg Adams

Adams_Character_Shot.png

Captain Gregory Adams is a human Earth Systems Alliance engineer. He was originally hand-picked by Captain David Anderson to serve as the Chief Engineer of the SSV Normandy. Engineer Adams has served on every class of Alliance starships. Prior to being assigned to the Normandy, Adams served on the SSV Tokyo, which he describes as a “good ship” but added that the SSV Tokyo “couldn’t hold a candle to the Normandy”. Adams becomes very enthusiastic while discussing the Normandy, claiming she is the best ship he has ever served on.

He decided not to join back up with Shepard after she contacted him to become chief engineer of the Normandy SR-2, and regretted that decision, feeling he had betrayed Shepard by not joining her when she called. When given the opportunity to work on the SR-2 as her chief engineer after Shepard turned the Normandy over he jumped at the chance and has been her engineer ever since.

He has been the one to oversee the Normandy’s refit for this current mission and is staying on as her Chief Engineer for the duration.

Jr Lieutenant Gabriella “Gabby” Daniels/Jr Lieutenant Kenneth Donnelly

Gabriella.pngKenneth.png

Both Daniels and Donnely graduated from the same class at a tech academy and served aboard the SSV Perugia at the Battle of the Citadel. After the battle, when the Alliance discredited the existence of the Reapers, Kenneth openly voiced his defense for Commander Shepard, which led to his recruitment by Cerberus. Gabby insisted to Kenneth that she be included in the contract as she felt he would fall apart without her.

The two are an inseperable pair, they joined Cerberus together, and after Shepard turned the Normandy SR-2 and herself over to the Alliance the two of them went with, and got arrested alongsides. Due to the fact that the two of them did nothing wrong and Shepard using her SPECTRE status the two joined her on the Normandy for the duration of the Reaper War.

Once the war was over and due to the instistence of now promoted Lt Commander Greg Adams they where offered their comissions back in the Alliance at their old ranks of Jr Lieutenant. The two accepted especially since they knew it would let them stay aboards the Normandy no matter who commanded her. Also that it would allow them to remain serving together, something both of them wished.

Jr Lieutenant Gabriella “Gabby” Daniels is the Normandys Propulsion Engineer
Jr Lieutantant Kenneth Donnely is the Normandys Power Engineer

It is also a known secret that the two of them are in a very commited relationship, which is strictly against Alliance regulations but due to the Normandys missions tend to get looked over.

EDI

Edi-robot-body-me3.png

The Enhanced Defense Intelligence, or EDI (pronounced ‘Ee-Dee’ [ˈiːdiː]), is an AI created by Cerberus and installed aboard the Normandy SR-2. She is represented visually by a holographic blue sphere and aurally with a feminine voice at various terminals throughout the ship where she can provide basic information about the Normandy and Cerberus.

EDI is a Quantum Blue Box type AI that functions as the electronic warfare defense for the Normandy SR-2. EDI was originally a shackled AI due to fears of her becoming a Rogue AI. After Shepard gained and installed the Reaper IFF, the Normandy was attacked and boarded by the collectors while Shepard and crew where off on a mission, much of the crew was taken which necessitated Joker to unshakle EDI giving the AI her full capabilities. She was instrumental in retaking the ship and then the attack and defeat of the collectors, she became a full member of the crew.

After Shepard turned herself and the the Normandy SR-2, Most of the Cerberus crew was taken into custody but released quickly afterwords as they had done nothing wrong. EDI had spent much of this time helping the Normandys crew hide from Cerberus’s hit squads.

After Earth was invaded by the Reapers and Shepard was given the Normandy back and her commission reinstated, EDI gladly worked with her again.

While investigating Prothean ruins on Mars, Shepard had acquired a Cerberus synthetic infiltration unit masquerading as “Dr. Eva Coré”. EDI assisted in extracting vital data from the unit, and in the process, she seizes control of the body. She had been using that body as a mobile platform, allowing her to interact with both the world and her crew mates. This also includes leaving the ship for periods at a time.

EDI is still primarily the ships AI, but thanks for the Mobile Platform she has the ability to be more effective in her job and when necessary leave.

The last two years she has spent assisting the Alliance with whatever mission the Normandy is assigned to at this time. She is also in a strange relationship with the ships primary pilot Flight Captain Jeff “Joker” Moreau.

Captain Steve Cortez

ME3_Steven_Cortez.png

Lieutenant Steve Cortez is an Alliance pilot aboard the Normandy SR-2, his assignment was as the prime pilot for the UT-47A Kodiak.

Cortez is the only child in his family and lost both of his parents years ago. He had a husband named Robert who was stationed at Ferris Fields in 2185, but the Collectors abducted the whole colony and Robert did not escape. While the Collectors were attacking, Robert called Steve, who was working on construction at a remote station not far from the colony, warning him to escape before the Collectors hit his station too. Steve begged Robert to escape with him, but Robert knew it was too late and asked Steve not to come after him, but to let him go and move on. Steve grieves heavily for his husband’s death, and kept a recording of their last call.

He has been in the Alliance since around 2176, first serving in the First Fleet on-board the SSV Hawking piloting F-61 Tridents. According to him, he has a knack for procurements, but his skill set made him a more valuable person to command a flight deck. Five months prior to the Reapers’ invasion of Earth, Cortez was assigned to the Normandy SR-2 retrofit team, responsible for overseeing cargo bay modifications. His immediate task was to shift the Normandy’s armory from its previous location behind the CIC to the shuttle bay.

Besides being a Kodiak pilot aboard the Normandy SR-2, he is also responsible for maintaining the Normandy’s armory.
